P3 Lead the Way on Changing Service Provision in the West Midlands
P3 have been commissioned by the Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council to deliver an innovative flagship service to meet the needs of the most excluded individuals in the area experiencing a plethora of multiple complex needs.
The service, consisting of 8 new apartments, will provide intensive support to individuals who present at least two behavioural needs elements including mental ill health, substance misuse, alcohol or other addictions, or other complex needs. Staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the service presents a new way of working with these individuals, who have largely been subject to multiple exclusions from other voluntary and statutory providers in the region. Key to the successful delivery of this unique service is the level of partnership working that will take place. P3 are a charity that fully recognise that no one single entity is capable of providing a complete package of support to an individual and as such, the charity has already, and will continue, to involve external partners and stakeholders through a newly formed practitioners group and governed by a Joint Working Protocol.
P3 are keen to demonstrate the services huge impact social return on investment, particularly at a time when local authority budgets are being tightened. Historically, this client group have created an increased demand on voluntary and statutory services and it is predicted that by using P3's model of spearheading partnership working on a tried and tested model, the service will deliver long lasting and positive outcomes for clients in a flexible, assertive and proactive way.
