P3's Navigator P3 has been operating specific youth services in the London Borough of Hillingdon for over 20 years. In this time we have established ourselves as a local innovator and leader in the provision of holistic services to young people facing crisis or social exclusion. P3's Navigator aims to break the cycle of homelessness and significantly reduce social exclusion and disadvantage. We recognise that these issues cannot be tackled in isolation - but need to be addressed simultaneously with any other issues that young people may be experiencing. P3's Navigator Centre's in Yiewsley and Hayes support young people aged 13-25 who are at risk of social exclusion. The centre's aim to provide a 'one-stop-shop' facility to meet ALL young people's needs and address their root cause. The purpose of the centre's is to provide generalist advice and support, where a referral to further specialist, expert services may be required. Over the past six years, P3's Navigator Advice Centre's have established themselves as the first port of call for young people in need of advice and support in Hillingdon, becoming locally recognised as the number one service for young people in the Borough. P3 has a learning shop available to young clients providing free training in a wide mixture of courses. With full accredited ECDL testing status, our Learning Shops provide an important opportunity for those young people, formally disillusioned by the educational system, to gain lessons in computing, life skills, GCSE revision, numeracy, literacy and many more. Rugby Portobello Trust
Our aim is to help young people (between the ages of 8 and 25) to achieve their personal best, realise their dreams and to grow up to play a full part in their local community.
Key to our work is to treat young people as individuals and our aim is to raise their self-esteem and develop their independence. We do this by providing a wide range of activities and learning programmes. These include life skills, such as how to find or train for a job; sex, drugs and pregnancy advice; sporting activities and outdoor pursuits. We run courses in such diverse subjects as computing, cookery and music production. We hold youth clubs at our Walmer Road centre, as well as activities in the community.
Walmer Road School supports young people who are failing in mainstream education. Our young people gain qualifications, develop a sense of purpose and are reintegrated into education.
We house 42 young people and provide support to a further 36 in their own accommodation. Many of them are leaving local authority care or are vulnerable and have experienced abuse or neglect. We help them to live independently and learn how to maintain their home in the long term.
